Crystal Maze Gromit Revealed! (BRYSTAL MAZE!)

Today I went to Bristol to do the Gromit Unleashed Trail. There are 67 Wallace's, Gromits and Feather Mc Graws dotted all over Bristol in various funky designs, raising money for Bristol Children's Hospital. The weather today was hotter than the Aztec Zone, but I drove to Hengrove Promenade (adjacent to Bottleyard Studios where the show is filmed), to take a look. Incredible detail and even signed by Ayoade! Wow. I want him!  Please check him out and donate to this worthy charity. Tonight we saw the final celebrity episode for this run (Derry girls). 6 "Civilian episodes return in a few weeks time. Cracking Gromit!

  1. Again, well done for supporting the show. It's great to share the enthusiasm.

Sometimes, on the internet, there can be a little moaning from angry fanboys, and the maze is no exception. They're complaining about every tiny way in which this series is different from the 90s series. Oh, the transitions; oh, there's no clock on the dome; only two games in a zone - scandal! Guess what, if we don't back the show and it gets canned, they'll be no games per zone like we had for years.

We have to not make the perfect the enemy of the good. Just because it's not exactly what we want, it's terrible. Like the Star Wars fans who do nothing but slate the movies.

I like the fact that the timer goes red if they run out of time. A change. A good one. See? It's easy to be positive.

Some of the moaning is just trolling, but some is us 40 something maze fans who should know better. Moaning about Ed ending up helping getting the show axed; it didn't bring back Richard O'Brien.

So, keep up the positivity and the good work, and keep being gassed about the show.

  2. Thank you anonymous - do you work on the show or something? lol. To be honest, I do miss the transitions but Channel 4 have had to make do with the budget and building they have. There was no aircraft hangar suitable for this new series to join the zones up. The only thing I miss is the original theme tune, it was more punchy, and I wish Ayoade would add to the fantasy a bit more like what Ed did, rather than tell us its a set (We know its a set). The whole reason why I liked the maze to begin with was for the imagination and fantasy, after all it is a time travelling adventure game show.... But apart from that the new games in the new series are epic and exactly what I envisioned for a revival.
