Game/Quiz Show Fantasy Casting

I was on Twitter last night (@maze_blog) and game show podcaster Jordan Hass was replying to someone in regards to a Weakest Link revival. Personally I felt there's only one choice for host and I woke up to a quick response from the gent in question:

So I've been thinking, who else could be hosting what revival? And whilst I quite like Rylan on TV he's got enough shows under his belt, so he's not getting any more.

Talk About: the morning word game which had players talking about subjects to their partners hoping to say as many unknown pre-selected key words as they can. The opposing team then have to guess the topic using the words that were missed.

In a game about pairs of friends talking, how about Mel and Sue. Side each of them with a team to add some friendly competition between the duo, and we seem to live in an age of loud, talkative people perfect for contestants.
The Saturday night challenge show You Bet! would be ideal for a come back. Just what we need after a quiet period for TV. Get people doing whatever skills they've picked up in lockdown in front of an audience. And given the creativity people have when they're bored, someone going to have done something out of the ordinary. Someone will have learned to do a wheelie in a digger or identify F1 tracks by the shade of black of the track. And for a host, I'm thinking standup Tom Allen. A bit left field but just go with it. He's funny so he'd be good with the celebrity guests, he'd be great with the challengers making whatever remarks he may, and he's got a personality audiences love.

A format known the world over, it's hard not to like Wheel of Fortune. Easy to play along with at home and one of many steps in the path of Bradley Walsh's career. Ideal Sunday evening viewing when Stephen Mulhern's Catchphrase isn't on, I'd like to see Miranda Hart running the show. Her version of the Generation Game may not have come to fruition but I think Miranda in charge of the wheel would be a fun evening show.
Gamesmaster: there's not many games that you can still show on TV that arent sports games, thanks to language and violence etc, but I think there's room for a studio based gaming show with all the interactivity the modern gaming age can allow. We can't have kids playing Mortal Kombat at teatime anymore, but theres still plenty of options for games to showcase. So given the wide range of online personalities known for their gaming knowledge, I'm dipping into the Digitiser family for my suggestions. Stuart Ashens as host, Paul 'Mr Biffo' Rose as a commentator, Eli Silverman lurking on the set, and as the titular Gamesmaster: Octavius. She's established with her content covering older games and consoles, with her own distinct style. Plus with this lot, who better to pass judgement on Paul Gannon having another go on Duck Hunt.

Obvious question for us is who would we like to see take over on The Crystal Maze when Richard Ayoade decides he wants to do something else, thats a topic for another post. I've got a few ideas, but I want to have a few more before sharing.

Who can you picture hosting what show? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @maze_blog
