The Music Of The Crystal Maze US - Ryan Lofty

Hi this is Ryan Lofty, one of the composers of the Nickelodeon adaptation of The Crystal Maze, here to chat about what’s new in music for the US version of the show!

Thank you to Liam, Jon, and the whole team for having me.

Co-composer David Butterfield and I were initially brought on to cover the theme song. The creative brief didn’t have too much detail other than a request for a contemporary hybridized take... plus a nicely worded warning that the UK series composer would be reviewing and approving – so don’t mess with his composition!

Covering a theme as well-known and loved as “Force Field” is a big responsibility. We spent a lot of time researching, reading YouTube comments, and checking out fan blogs like this one.

1 day to go so, for those unfamiliar with the names, let's introduce tomorrows celebs:

Gemma Collins

Featured on reality show 'The Only Way Is Essex' (and I'm using 'reality' in it's loosest form), self-confessed diva (Professionally self centered) Gemma has featured in such celebrity shows as 'Dancing on Ice' and was briefly on a series of 'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here'. Pondered for a while for what clip to use but this one won the day.

3 Days To Go, New Games, Including Knightmare meets Tron

Here's today's offering as we close in on Friday. A couple of clips, first a montage taken from Facebook showing a few new games, then secondly a look at our favourite game we've seen thus far.

Launch Week, What's Coming Up?

With under 5 days left until UK broadcast, we're a bit eager for Friday to hurry up and come round. Not least because it's been a long wait to see the new series on screen, but because after broadcast we'll have an exclusive interview with executive producer, and author of the series tie-in book 'The Crystal Maze Challenge, Let The Games Begin!', Neale Simpson here for your reading pleasure.

But not a moment before, can't be having spoilers now can we?

As an administrator for The Crystal Maze Fan Blog / Fan Group - I am delighted that this blog is becoming such a success. We are getting a wide global readership with lots of people getting in touch with us to talk about the Maze. A few years ago, the Maze didn't even exist on Social Media, so it's nice that it has been brought up to date with the times. I absolutely love the show and it's always so fascinating to hear production and contestant stories, as well as the inspirations behind the various games. Next year The Crystal Maze reaches 30 years old, (as old as me!). I am so chuffed that three decades later, the show is still so popular.
